Creative business writing
Become an expert communicator who uses words with flair and confidence in this three-day writing workshop.
Words are tiny weapons of persuasion. They can shape the way we (and others) see the world, so it’s crucial to wield them properly, especially for your business. Learn how to apply the principles of good writing to your work, how to deploy simple tools to dramatically improve your writing, and how to communicate more masterfully than ever. Know which words to use when, why to use them, and how to use them to maximum effect. Understand the nuances of style, tone and register – and how to modulate them depending on the platform you’re writing for. Equip yourself with basic sub-editing and proofreading skills to improve your own drafts and help colleagues to do the same. During the course of this highly practical one-week programme, you’ll work on a long-form piece of writing (a thought leadership piece, a feature article or a corporate profile) that is submitted for evaluation upon completion of the course.
By the end of this course you’ll be able to:
- Write vivid, clear prose
- Identify and create connection with your target audience
- Tell engaging, human stories
- Sharpen your stories using seven strategic questions
- Embrace the journalistic principle of “show, don’t tell”
- Sub-edit and proofread your stories
