Go beyond the traditional with this three-day course on multimedia and cross-platform reporting.

Text, audio, visual, digital, social: the journalist of today needs to be able to use them all – and we need to be able to use them on multiple platforms. Learn how to create and share multimedia stories that grab your audience’s attention, and then share them across platforms. Develop the crucial skill of tailoring your work for different media platforms, and discover free apps and online tools that make creating graphics and infographics easy. Learn to write for the ear and the eye, and then pull it all together into a multimedia report of your own.

By the end of this course, you’ll be able to:

  • Understand the principles of multimedia and cross-platform journalism
  • Develop a multimedia framework for your stories
  • Use a storyboard as a “roadmap” for your reporting
  • Take better photos and videos
  • Write for audio, video and social
  • Repurpose your content for different platforms
